IGA Rewards faced critical structural limitations that hindered its growth and impact. Members experienced a fragmented program with multiple disconnected pillars (Member Specials, Competitions, Travel Deals, and Personalised Offers), delivered inconsistently across independently operated stores due to lack of centralised control. The program struggled to compete with larger, more sophisticated competitors like Woolworths and Coles, which offered seamless omnichannel experiences and advanced personalisation. Technology gaps prevented effective data collection and member insights, limiting the ability to deliver relevant, targeted communications. Additionally, the program lacked a clear, scalable value proposition and had no unified strategy to drive awareness, engagement, and member acquisition across the diverse network.

Loyalty & Reward Co conducted a comprehensive audit of the existing program pillars and the planned Cash-back pillar to identify critical gaps and opportunities prior to launch. The audit assessed the program against best-practice principles and competitive benchmarks, uncovering risk areas and optimisation opportunities. A detailed, prioritised recommendations report was delivered as the critical tasks list for the program relaunch, addressing program design, commercial modelling, technology enablement, and member experience.
