Independent review and future strategy for Loyalty NZ’s digital transformation

Loyalty NZ are owned in equal share by Bank of New Zealand, Foodstuffs, IAG New Zealand Ltd and Z Energy. They manage the Flybuys loyalty program for over 2.4 million members with a network of over 50 participating brands where reward points can be earned.


Loyalty NZ had a vision to deliver member experiences and communications at a best-practice level, while providing outstanding support to their partners.

Due to legacy technology challenges and data structure issues, their ability to deliver to their vision proved very difficult.



Loyalty NZ engaged Loyalty & Reward Co to conduct an independent strategic review of the company’s technology, data and marketing capabilities. The review inspired Flybuys to conduct a digital transformation to enhance their ability to personalise member experiences and provide better support to their partners.

Further reviews were conducted of the Flybuys Store, future strategy and progress on the digital transformation strategy.
